6.2.2 STATUS REGISTER READ
SEQUENCE
The Read Status Register instruction (SRREAD)
provides access to the STATUS register. The STATUS
register may be read at any time, even during a write
cycle. This allows the user to poll the WIP bit to
determine when a write cycle is complete.
The device is selected by pulling CS
low. The 8-bit
SRREAD instruction is transmitted to the MCP795XX.
The STATUS register value is then shifted out on the
SO pin. The read operation is terminated by driving CS
high (Figure 6-5).
