11.3 Application Examples
11.3.1 Debug Environment
Figure 11-2 shows a complete debug environment example. The ICE/JTAG interface is used for standard debugging functions, such as
downloading code and single-stepping through the program. A software debugger running on a personal computer provides the user inter-
face for configuring a Trace Port interface utilizing the ICE/JTAG interface.

11.3.2 Test Environment
The figure below shows a test environment example. Test vectors are sent and interpreted by the tester. In this example, the “board in
test” is designed using a number of JTAG-compliant devices. These devices can be connected to form a single scan chain.
