3.0 SPECIAL FEATURES OF THE

PIC18F2458/2553/4458/4553 devices include several

features intended to maximize reliability and minimize

cost through elimination of external components.

These include:

• Device ID Registers

3.1 Device ID Registers

The Device ID registers are “read-only” registers.

They identify the device type and revision to device

programmers, and can be read by firmware using

table reads.
