43.5.5 Master Time Base/Synchronous Time Base
The PWM functionality in the master time base is illustrated in Figure 43-9.

Some of the common tasks of the master time base are:
• Generates time reference for all the PWM generators
• Generates special event ADC trigger and interrupt
• Supports synchronization with the external SYNC signal
(SYNCI1/SYNCI2/SYNCI3/SYNCI4)
• Supports synchronization with external devices using the SYNCO signal
The master time base for a PWM generator is set by loading a 16-bit value into the Time Period
register (PTPER/STPER). In the Master Time Base mode, the value in the PHASEx and
SPHASEx registers provide phase shift between the PWM outputs.
The clock for the PWM
timer (PMTMR/SMTMR) is derived from the system clock.
