Capactive Touch Sensing Solutions
Microchip advances conventional vehicle Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI)
by replacing mechanical buttons and switches with the mTouch™ sensing
solution. The mTouch sensing solution supports both the capacitive touch and
metal over capacitive sense interfaces. These touch interfaces are robust and
work with gloves. The elimination of mechanical parts significantly reduces
overall system costs, and automotive car stylists have increased options to
offer the driver and its passengers.
Microchip’s mTouch software libraries simplify software development and
enable quicker time to market. Supported functions include:
■ Momentary buttons
■ Linear slider
■ Rotary slider
■ Metal Over Cap (MOC) buttons
■ Proximity detection
