12. HANDS-FREE TELEPHONY AND REAL TIME
SERVICES
Your ViaMichelin portable GPS device has functions that you can use to
telephone in hands-free mode and update content in real time using GPRS

services.
Select MAIN MENU > Before you set off> Telephone > Telephone options
On the NAVIGATION > > > Telephone options screen

Bluetooth
To activate or deactivate the Bluetooth link with your telephone.
Reminder: For the list of telephones compatible with your
ViaMichelin portable GPS device, visit the web site:
www.ViaMichelin.com.
Click on “Deactivate Bluetooth” to activate a Bluetooth link with a telephone. The message “Bluetooth
Deactivation will lead to disconnection of the telephone currently connected. Do you wish to
continue with this operation?” appears. Click “Yes” to deactivate the Bluetooth link; otherwise, click “No”.

To declare and establish the connection with a telephone. As long as the
Bluetooth link is not active, this icon is dimmed and cannot be activated.

The telephone services and access to GPRS are available on ViaMichelin Navigation X-970 / X-970T and X-980T portable GPS devices only.

12.1. CONNECT TELEPHONE
• Click on “Activate Bluetooth”.
• Click on “Connect telephone”.
• Activate the Bluetooth link on your portable telephone.
For certain telephone models, Bluetooth must be made “visible” during this procedure to be activated.
• Click on “Add”. After a few moments, your ViaMichelin portable GPS device detects the Bluetooth
device(s).
• Click on the name of your telephone.
• If the message “If your telephone requests a code, please enter 1 2 3 4” appears; click on “OK”
• If your telephone requires a PIN code to associate it with your ViaMichelin portable GPS device, type the
code “1234” and validate.
• On your ViaMichelin portable GPS device, the message “Pairing successful. Do you want to connect
this telephone to make it your default telephone now?” appears; click “Yes” if the telephone
selected is to be the default telephone; otherwise, click “No”.
• On your telephone, validate the audio connection to your ViaMichelin portable GPS device.
• On your ViaMichelin portable GPS device, the “Connection successful” message appears. Click “OK”
To delete a telephone from a list of paired telephones, display the page and click on the telephone to be deleted
from the list.
You can then:
Disconnect
To disconnect the Bluetooth link.
Delete
To delete the telephone from the list of devices recognised by your
ViaMichelin portable GPS device.
When a telephone is connected to your ViaMichelin portable GPS device, a small telephone appears
in the top right of the screen in the upper banner.
If a telephone is not connected, the icon appears with a red line.
