Das Thermistorrelais wird als Schutzrelais für Motoren gegen thermische Überlastung
(unzulässige Erwärmung) eingesetzt. Diese Erwärmung kann durch mechanische
Überlastung an der Welle oder beim Betrieb des Motors mit unzulässigen Spannungen
auftreten. Als
Sensor wird ein Kaltleiter (PTC) verwendet, der möglichst an dem Teil des
Motors platziert wird, der sich bei Überlastung am stärksten erwärmt (z. B. in
Motorwicklung integriert). Das Gerät ist auch bei Motoren einsetzbar, bei denen ein
Thermoschalter inte
griert ist.

The thermistor relay is used as protection relay for motors against thermal
overload (inadmissible heating). This heating might be caused by mechanical
overload on the shaft or when operating the motor with inadmissible
voltages. A PTC thermistor is used a
s sensor.
It should be mounted to the part
of the motor that heats most in case of overload (e.g. integrated in motor
winding).
The device can also be used for motors with integrated thermo
switch.
