CABLING MASTER-SLAVE
The HoloPlexer and the scanners connected to it support most of the options found in either the
MetroSet or the HoloSet configuration program. When using HoloTrak scanners, configuring the
HoloPlexer causes the proper configuration to be sent through the HoloPlexer to the scanners. Many
scanner features for the scanners are specific to allowing communications to the HoloPlexer, and do
not interfere with the HoloPlexer’s ability to communicate to a host system. This is not true for other
scanners, which must be configured separately, using the appropriate configuration software (see
table on following page). Once all units are configured, the system will operate as a unified system.
Two Scanner Systems
If only two scanners are needed for a particular application and at least one of those scanners is a
HoloTrak, the scanners can be connected directly together without the need for a HoloPlexer. This
connection method is typically limited to two scanners only. Connecting more than two HoloTrak
scanners together (master-slave-slave) is not suggested as it will add appreciable propagation delay
to the application and may cause system problems.
HOLOPLEXER MOUNTING
The HoloPlexer can be easily mounted on a flat surface by using the optional HoloPlexer mounting kit
available from Metrologic. This kit consists of a mounting plate, which attaches to the bottom of the
HoloPlexer providing it with four user accessible screw mounting holes. The plate is secured to the
bottom of the unit using the six 32x7/16 flat head Phillips head screws provided.
