2.2 Client installation for SingleUser and MultiUser Please follow these instructions to complete a Vision client installation: 1 If replacing an earlier Vision installation, do not uninstall the existing Vision. The new Vision installation will preserve all projects and database structures in the existing Vision and will operate in an updated manner using existing projects and files. 2 Insert the Vision “Installation” CD into the CD drive.

NOTE The serial number is printed on the CD label. Click on “Next” to continue the installation. 19 Please read and accept the License Agreement and click on “Next” to continue the installation. 20 NOTE Client installation for MultiUser This step occurs only in conjunction with the server installation. 3 User rights for Vision For Vision to function properly in Windows 7, Vista, NT4, 2000, and XP it is very important to have Full Control in Vision directory and all subdirectories and files underneath. This is how you can check if you have Full control. 1 Start Windows Explorer. Right-click on the Start button on the desktop and select Explorer menu. 2 In Windows Explorer, navigate to Vision directory. (This is directory where Vision was installed) By default it is c:\vision.

5 In Properties dialog select Tab Security. If you don’t see this tab, it means you don’t have sufficient rights in Windows. You can’t run Vision. 6 In Security tab select a user which is logged-in in Windows right now. If user is not listed select a group to which this user belongs. 14 8.105.

7 Look at permissions for selected user. He/she must have Full Control checked. 8 Click on Advanced button underneath permissions list. Again select user who is logged-in in Windows right now or user group where this user belongs if user is not listed separately. 8.105.

9 This user should have Full Control applied to “This folder, subfolders and files”. If all above is does not apply and you can’t change it, please talk to your IT department to gain required permission.
