5.4 Diagnostic tests

5.4.6 Check RS232 interfaces
With this diagnostic step all outputs and inputs of the two RS232 inter-
faces 1616 "RS 232" and 1515 "709 IC Pump" can be checked for function-
ality.
• Prepare instrument for diagnostic test (see section 5.4.2).
• If need be, press <9> key repeatedly until
diagnosis
>diag/RS test
• <ENTER>
>diag/RS test
>diag/RS test/RS232
• <ENTER>
>diag/RS test/RS232
RS connector?
• Without switching off the instrument, plug the 3.496.8480 Test plug
into socket "RS232".
• <ENTER>
The test runs automatically. If no fault is found, the following appears:
>diag/RS test/RS232
RS test ok
• Remove test plug and <ENTER>.
>diag/RS test
>diag/RS test/709 Pump
• <ENTER>
>diag/RS test/709 Pump
RS connector?
• Without switching off the instrument, plug the 3.496.8480 Test plug
into socket "709 IC Pump".
• <ENTER>
The test runs automatically. If no fault is found, the following appears:
>diag/RS test/709 Pump
RS test ok
• Remove test plug and <ENTER>.
