Full-scale range (operating range)
The full-scale range (operating range) sets the desired
sensitivity for the display and analog output of the
measuring signal during the recording of a chroma-
togram. The following points should be noted:
The possible values of the full-scale range which can
be selected with the <SELECT> key depend on the
preset measuring range "range". This value can be
reduced in a total of 11 stages by a factor 1 (lowest
sensitivity) up to maximum a factor of 2000 (highest
sensitivity).
The full-scale range is primarily used to increase the
sensitivity for the recording of the chromatogram
following the electronic background compensation of
the eluent sensitivity (auto-zero function, see also
description in section 4.6.3).
For the selected full-scale range (FS), the linearity of
the conductivity measurement is assured in the
range -1.5 FS+1.5 FS. If the measured value vio-
lates these limits, overload display 88 lights up, but
the measured value is still displayed. If the measured
value lies outside ±1.8 FS, overload display 88 starts
to flash, at the same time display 11 shows the abso-
lute conductivity in place of the auto-zero value.
The full-scale range determines the limits for the
output of the analog signal at analog outputs 1111
(01 V) and 1212 (010 mV). The polarity of the out-
put signal can be changed at any time with the pa-
rameter "polarity" to "+" (0+FS) or "" (0–FS).
