Functional description
IV - ACQUISITION system (cont'd)
Press the "RUN/STOP" key to start (RUN) the continuous acquisition of
signals. Press this key again to stop the acquisition.
Press the "SINGLE" button to select the "Single" mode.
In "SINGLE" mode, pressing the RUN/STOP key sets the acquisition function
to "ready": a triggering event then causes a single acquisition to be
performed and displayed; the oscilloscope then changes to STOP.
In SINGLE mode, when you press the "RUN/STOP" button to start a single
acquisition, the oscilloscope executes the following steps:
1. Acquisition of the Pre-Trig samples, which on the screen are the part of
the signal to the left of the triggering point.
2. Acquisition of the Pre-Trig samples is continuous while waiting for the
triggering event.
3. Detection of the triggering event.
4. After the triggering event, the acquisition of samples continues until the
recording memory is filled; this is the post-trig, which on the screen is the
part of the trace to the right of the triggering point.
5. The newly acquired signal is displayed. Then the acquisition is STOPped;
the "RUN/STOP" key must be pressed again to restart the sequence.
