Two-channel digital Oscilloscopes 41
Functional description
III - TRIGGER system (cont'd)
COUPLING
Use the coupling appropriate to the triggering source signal.
To choose the coupling of the trigger, first press the "TRIG MENU" key to
choose the triggering mode - "edge", "pulse", video" or "slope" -, then choose
in the "Set Up" menu the coupling of triggering source CH1 or CH2.
Horizontal POSITION
The "Horizontal Position" button is used to adjust the time interval between
triggering event T and the centre of the screen. The "Horizontal POSITION"
knob is used to adjust the part of the signal displayed before and after
triggering event T. The horizontal position reference is the centre of the
screen, the "Position" is positive in the left-hand part of the screen and
negative in the right-hand part.
SLOPE &
TRIGGERING
THRESHOLD
The "Slope" and "Triggering Level" commands are used to define the trigger.
The choice of polarity of the "Slope" ("Edge" type trigger only) determines
triggering on the rising or falling edge of a signal.
The "LEVEL" knob controls the vertical position of the triggering threshold on
the edge.

Note:
Use the SINGLE button when you want to capture a
single signal.
The coupling of the triggering source does not affect
the coupling bandwidth of the channel displayed on
screen.
Normal polarity is used for positive video, which has
negative sync pulses. For negative video, which has
positive sync pulses, use the inverted polarity.
