2. Buttons of the
vertical mode
Vertical position
knobs
1. Use the "Vertical position" knobs to move the traces up or down on the
screen.
2. While you adjust the vertical position of the trace, the value "Volts Pos = " is
displayed at bottom left on the screen.
3. Press the "Vertical position" knob to reset the vertical position to zero.
Volts/div knobs
1. Use the "Volts/div" knobs to adjust the vertical sensitivity. If you turn the
"Volts/div" knob clockwise or anticlockwise, the oscilloscope increases or
reduces the sensitivity.
2. You can press the "Volt/div" to alternate between "Coarse" and "Fine"
adjustments. In the "Coarse" mode the vertical sensitivity varies in 1-2-5-
staged hops. In the "Fine" mode the vertical sensitivity varies continuously.
3. Using REF
The reference command stores the traces. The reference function is available
once a source trace has been stored.

Steps
1. Press the "REF" button to access the REFerence menu.
2. Press the "Source" button to choose the source channel, CH1 or CH2.
3. Turn the vertical "POSITION" and "Volt/div" knobs to adjust the vertical
position and sensitivity to suitable values.
4. Press the "REF A" (or REF B) button to choose the storage location.
5. Press the "Save" button.
6. Select REF A (or REF B) "ON" to display the reference trace on screen.
