Important Safety Instructions for Installers and Users
RF Exposure Information
In order to comply with Federal Communications Commission safety standards for human
exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy, the following precautions must be taken.
2. MOBILE OPERATION
The user should be fully trained in the operation of the radio, including factors that
influence RF exposure, such as the proximity of people to an antenna during
transmission times.
Do not operate the voice-enabled transmitters more than 50% of the time.
Operate the voice-enabled transmitters only when people outside of the vehicle are
located at least the Minimum Separation Distance from the transmitting antenna.
When these precautions are taken, an installation with this device satisfies the FCC
requirements for RF Exposure.
3. BASE INSTALLATION
Base antennas should be installed on permanent outdoor structures. RF Exposure
compliance at such sites must be addressed on a site-by-site basis.
