and mechanical cabinets.

Instructions

PUTTY:

Penetrating items should be ﬁrmly

anchored. Clean opening of dust,

dirt and oil. Refer to RectorSeal

application guide or current UL

1. Product Description

Metacaulk

Putty is a mold-

able non-curing one com-

ponent ﬁre-rated material for

through-penetration ﬁrestop

systems. Metacaulk

Putty

will intumesce when heated,

forming an insulating char. In

the event of a ﬁre, Metacaulk

Putty will prevent the spread

of flames, smoke, gas and

water through penetration

openings. Metacaulk® Putty

is applied by hand. Mixing is

never required and no spe-

cial skills are necessary for

installation. Metacaulk

Putty

is rated for up to 3hours in

accordance with the ASTM

E 814, UL 1479 and ULC/

CAN4-S115-M test standards.

Product Description Metacaulk® Putty is a moldable non-curing one component fire-rated material for through-penetration firestop systems. Metacaulk ® Putty will intumesce when heated, forming an insulating char. In the event of a fire, Metacaulk® Putty will prevent the spread of flames, smoke, gas and water through penetration openings.

Metacaulk® Fire Rated Putty and Putty Pads directory for selection of proper system design detailing depths of putty and backing material. PUTTY PADS: Remove liner from one side of pad (Step 1). Align with the side of the box partially overlapping the stud and adhere. Work pad to the opposite side of the box and over the edges (Step 2). If wall membrane is in place, pack putty into gaps between box and gypsum board slightly overlapping inner wallboard surface.
