In order to expand a traditional system, another similar UPS can be added to the existing one. This requires more space, as well as

modi cations to the electric system and the wiring.

With modular systems, the updating is performed by installing an additional power module, without any interruption of the load, or

increase in size, without bringing further installation costs.

This  exibility makes it very simple to expand new generation UPS, whilst signi cantly reducing costs.
