Installing the G65
Digital Surround
Controller
The G65 provides eight balanced analogue outputs to
allow you to connect to active loudspeakers, or power
amplifiers and passive loudspeakers. An ideal choice is
the Meridian G55 5-Channel Power Amplifier.
Connect the Left and Right analogue outputs to the
G55 balanced inputs for the main front loudspeakers.
Connect the Rear Left and Rear Right analogue
outputs to the G55 balanced inputs for the rear
loudspeakers.

•
Connect the Centre analogue output to the G55
balanced input for the centre loudspeaker.
If the system includes a subwoofer connect the Sub
analogue output to an active analogue subwoofer.
Make all the connections using XLR leads.
On the G55 set the UNBALANCED/BALANCED
switch to the BALANCED position for each channel.

G65 Digital Surround Controller
The digital surround controller provides a very high-
quality crossover for the subwoofer, and for best
results you should use this instead of the subwoofer’s
crossover. The subwoofer crossover can be set from
the front panel of the G65; see
Subwoofer crossover
frequency
, page 61.
If the subwoofer does not have a direct input, or a
setting that completely removes the crossover, you
should set the crossover in the subwoofer to the
highest setting available.
Connect the Sub analogue output socket from the
G65 Digital Surround Controller to the subwoofer’s
line-level input using a balanced audio lead.
Use Side/Sub Left and Side/Sub Right if you have
two subwoofers.
