Displaying test patterns

The PATTERNS menu allows you to display a test pattern for assistance with setting up the

Picture and display settings.

To display the PATTERNS menu

• Press Menu to display the INPUT menu.

• Press

> to display the PATTERNS menu:

• Press V to display the SELECT PATTERN option and press > or < to switch between

OFF (no pattern) or ON (test pattern):

• Press V to display the TEST PATTERN option and press > or < to step between the

alternative test patterns:

When the test pattern is activated the image level adjustments are fixed to reference levels

and cannot be changed. Use these patterns to align or test your system. Many patterns are

designed for technician use only.

For best results all image adjustments should be done with a test DVD from the DVD player

and patterns from the satellite box, if available. This ensures that the final image is adjusted

for the complete signal path from source, through the processor to the display.
