Hapi power ON
Connecting the Power Cable
The Hapi unit runs on 85-240V, 50-60 Hz AC voltage. Excessive voltages can seriously damage the
Hapi unit, so make sure that your AC power matches the voltage of your Hapi unit. When you connect
the power, use the cable you received with your Hapi unit and plug it into a grounded outlet.
For safety and EMC reasons, and to prevent audio hum, the system must be properly grounded. If your
power source does not have a standard three-prong socket, the system must be grounded in another
appropriate manner.
As an option Hapi can also be powered from a DC power source (10-14V), contact your local reseller
about this option.
Hapi DC power input
Hapi can be delivered with a DC input capability, when this option is ordered a 4 pins connector
(HR10A-7R-4S) is installed left to the AC power connector.
The pinout of this connector is:
- Pin 1: GND
- Pin 4: 12V
- Pins 2 and 3: not connected
The DC power input accepts voltages from 10V to 14V for a maximum power consumption of 30W.
Merging does also provide an external AC/DC 30W converter with the appropriate counter-part
connector already mounted as an option.
Hapi power up mode selection
The Hapi unit has been designed to have two power up modes selectable with a jumper on the
backplane of Hapi:
- Normal operation: Requires to press on the power button to turn ON Hapi, pressing for more
than 5 seconds on the same button will shut down Hapi
- Always ON operation: As soon as power inlet cable is plugged in the Hapi will power ON,
pressing on the power button to either turn it on of off will have no effect
