Installing Drivers for Compaq W8000 Systems
You must now install the following four drivers on your Compaq W8000
workstation. These drivers do not need to be installed on IBM 6866 Z Pro
workstations:
•Intel Chipset
• Intel Pro100 Network
•Logitech Mouse
• SBAudioPCI128
Installing the Intel
Chipset Drivers
To install the latest Intel Chipset drivers
1. Put the Drivers CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. From the main menu, click Browse CD.
3. Browse to the \win2000\compaq\system\Intelchipset folder.
4. Double-click on the Setup.exe file.
5. Click Next at the Install Shield for the Intel Chipset Software Utility.
6. Click Ye s.
7. Click Next to install the software.
8. Select No and click Finish.
9. Shut down the workstation.
10. Turn on the workstation.
Installing the Intel
Pro100 Network Driver
To install the Intel Pro100 Network driver, you must first create a floppy disk
from the Drivers CD and then use the disk to install the driver.
To create the Driver diskette
1. Put a blank, formatted diskette in the floppy drive.
2. Put the Drivers CD in the CD-ROM drive.
3. From the main menu, click Browse CD.
4. Browse to the \win2000\compaq\system\IntelPro100\makedisk. folder.
5. Double-click on the DCreate.exe file.
6. From the Create Install Window, select Windows 2000 and click Create
Disk.
7. When done, click OK and click Exit (leave the floppy in the drive).
