x Troubleshooting and Repair:
- The TKS system has very few repair parts:
The TKS Module
The oil pressure switch
The coolant temperature switch and diode
TKS Module
- There are essentially three failure modes:
Hard Starting – Cold
In this mode, the TKS fuel path is closed. As the module is
normally open, there are 3 possible root causes:
- Continuous power is getting to the TKS module
- Debris in the TKS fuel path
- The TKS module has failed
Hard Starting – Hot
In this mode, the TKS fuel path is open. As the module is
normally open, there are two possible root causes:
- Continuous power is not getting to the TKS module
- The TKS module has failed
Poor running/running rich/excessive fuel consumption
- In this mode, the TKS fuel path is open and the causes are
the same as Hard Starting – Hot.
