Maintenance schedule and record Wheel lug nuts Wheel lug nuts must be retightened to proper torque specifications at 500 miles (800 km) of new vehicleoperation. Owner maintenance checks The following lists are vehicle checks and inspections that should be performed by the owner or qualifiedservice technician at the frequencies indicated to help ensure safe, dependable operation of your vehicle. Any adverse conditions should be brought to the attention of your dealer or qualified service technicianfor service advice as soon as possible. These Owner Maintenance Checks are generally not covered by warranties and you may be charged forlabor, parts and lubricants used.
Owner maintenance checks AT LEAST MONTHLY • Check coolant level in the coolant recovery reservoir. • Check operation of lamps, horn, turn signals, windshield wipers and washers, and hazard warningflasher. • Check for fluid leaks by inspecting the surface beneath your vehicle for oil, coolant, or other fluid drips. Clean water from the air conditioning system is normal. AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, I.E., EVERY SPRING AND FALL: • Check power steering reservoir fluid level.
Owner maintenance checks AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR: • Lubricate door hinges and checks, and hood hinges. • Lubricate door and hood locks and latches. • Clean battery and terminals, check electrolyte level on low maintenance (auxiliary and replacement)batteries. If any of these conditions are noted, bring them to the attention of your dealer or qualified servicetechnician as soon as possible.
