e. Secure the starter pawl with the E‑ring retained during disassembly.

5. Install the sheave onto the recoil housing. The sheave catch must interlock with the recoil spring for the recoil to function
properly.

6. With a slight downward pressure, rotate the sheave counterclockwise to engage the spring into the catch on the sheave. If
the spring is properly positioned on the sheave, resistance will be felt while winding the sheave counterclockwise.
7.
Assemble and install the friction plate:
a. Install the friction plate spring onto the friction plate. Lubricate the friction plate with 2‑4‑C with PTFE.
