4. Remove the jam nut from the lower shift shaft.

5. Remove the four screws securing the gear housing to the driveshaft housing, and remove the gearcase.

Gear Housing Disassembly
IMPORTANT: It is recommended that during complete disassembly of the gear housing, all O‑rings and oil seals be replaced
regardless of their appearance.
Bearing Carrier Disassembly

Remove the two screws securing the bearing carrier.
