SPEAKER CONNECTION PREPARATION FOR USE R L – – + 1. Place the speakers in convenient locations on either side of the unit. + Usually a distance of five to eight feet between speakers provides the best stereo effect, but this may vary depending on the size and acoustics of the room. 2. Locate the Speaker Jacks on the rear of the unit and connect the dashed black wires to the red (+) terminals and connect the solid black wires to the black (–) terminals. 3.

Do not move or lift the unit during playing/loading of a CD as this may cause malfunction to the CD mechanism. If there is a power failure or the AC cord is disconnected for a short period of time, the clock will stop but the time will be kept. When the power is resumed or the AC cord is connected again, the clock time will continue running.

SETTING THE CLOCK OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 2 3 2 1 With the power off, press and hold the MEM/CLOCK ADJ button; “12 H” or “24H” will blink. 4 Press the Tune/Skip/Search o 1 or n 2 button to set the unit to the 24 hour (24 H) mode (also known as military time) or 12 hour (12 H) mode. 5 1 1 3 3 2 2 1 1 Press the Tune/Skip/Search o 1 or n 2 button to set the current hour. Press a second time to show the timer’s On Time. Press again or wait five seconds and the display will show the radio frequency or total tracks/time of the CD. WHILE PLAYING A CD: Press the DISPLAY button on the remote once to show the remaining time of the CD on the display. Press a second time to show the clock.

NOTE: You can also repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 on the remote to select the tuner. Press the TUNER Function button 1 to select the radio. (You can also repeatedly press the FUNCTION button on the remote to select the tuner.) Press the STOP/BAND (■) button 2 to select AM or FM. Press the Tune/Skip/Search o 1 or n 2 button to select a station.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) PLAYING COMPACT DISCS This unit can play standard, CD-R or CD-RW CDs. 1 2 3 Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. Press the CD Function button; “CD” appears in the display. NOTE: You can also repeatedly press the FUNCTION button 2 on the remote to select CD. 4 5 Press the CD OPEN button and gently press a CD onto the center spindle with the label side facing forward and close the CD compartment.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) TO BEGIN PLAYBACK FROM A SPECIFIC TRACK 1 2 2 1 After you insert a disc into the CD player, press either the Tune/Skip/Search o 1 or n 2 button to select a specific track for playback. NOTE: You can also use the Number (0-9) buttons/OVER button on the remote to select a track. Simply press the number for the track you would like to hear. For tracks over “10”, press the OVER button first; i.e., for Track 11, press the OVER button followed by the Number 1 button.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) REPEAT PLAYBACK OF ONE TRACK OR ALL TRACKS 1 2 4 3 3 2 1 1 2 To repeat a single track, while in the Stop mode, press the REPEAT/MEM-UP button ❶ once; “REP” will blink in the display. Press the Tune/Skip/Search o 2 or n 3 button to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button ❹ to begin playback. The specific track you selected will be repeated continuously.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) SETTING THE TIMER Set the timer to turn the unit on to the Tuner, CD or LINE IN mode at a preset time as follows: 1 2 3 1 1 3 3 2 2 TO SET THE TIMER ON TIME, with the unit off (in Standby mode), press the TIMER/SLEEP button (on the main unit) or the TIMER button (on the remote), "TIMER" will blink in the display.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the compact disc label. • Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the compact disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service: Symptom Possible Cause Solution Noise or sound distorted on radio broadcasts. Nunca use detergentes ni limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar el disco. Si es necesario, use un juego de limpieza para CD.
