POWER SOURCES AC: Use the AC polarized line cord included with the unit for operation on AC power. Insert the small end of the AC cord into the AC jack on the rear of the unit. Insert the other end of the AC cord into any convenient 120V 60Hz household outlet. AC Outlet AC Plug NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug does not fit into a nonpolarized AC outlet, do not file or cut the wide blade.
OPTIONAL CONNECTIONS If you are using special CD+G (Graphics) discs in this portable Karaoke system, you must connect this unit to a television set in order to see the On-Screen Graphics that are recorded on CD+G Karaoke discs. The video cable has yellow RCA type plugs on each end. Please note that your TV set must have an RCA type Video Input jack in order to view the CD+G lyrics on your TV screen. You cannot connect this portable Karaoke system to your TV’s coaxial antenna terminal.
OPTIONAL CONNECTIONS (CONTINUED) 3. You can connect the Audio Out jacks from this portable Karaoke system to the Aux In or Audio In jacks of your home stereo system to hear the sound through your home stereo speakers. Follow the instructions for your home stereo system to select the device connected to the external jacks as the audio source.
OPERATION CONNECTING THE MICROPHONE(S) This unit has two microphone jacks which will allow you to sing along with your favorite songs. Before connecting, make sure the MIC VOLUME control is set to minimum. ECHO CONTROL Rotate the ECHO control clockwise to increase the echo or 1 to decrease the counterclockwise echo. MIC ON/OFF SWITCH To turn the microphone on, slide the ON/OFF switch, located on the side of the microphone, to the ON position.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) PLAYING COMPACT DISCS NORMAL PLAYBACK (For karaoke playback, please refer to page 13) 1 2 3 Set the MASTER VOLUME control to a low setting. Press the POWER button to the ON (in) position to turn the unit on; the POWER indicator will light. Lift up on the CD OPEN tab to open the CD compartment door. Place a CD on the center spindle, with the printed label side facing up. Close the CD Compartment door.
CD PAUSE CONTROL OPERATION (CONTINUED) 1 2 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the Play/Pause (® ) button. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the display will blink. Press the Play/Pause (® ) button again to release pause and resume normal CD playback; the display will remain on.
REPEAT PLAYBACK OPERATION (CONTINUED) 1 1 3 2 3 4 2 1 2 2 1 To repeat a single track, press the REPEAT button ❶ once; the REPEAT indicator will blink. Press the SKIP ( ) ❷ or ( ) ❸ button to select the specific track that you wish to repeat. When the desired track number appears in the display, press the PLAY/PAUSE (® ) button ❹ to begin playback. The specific track you selected will be repeated continuously.

When the desired track number blinks in the display, press the PROGRAM button ❸ again. 7 1 2 3 2 1 1 Press either the SKIP ( ) ❶ or ( ) ❷ button to select the next track you wish to program. When the desired track number blinks in the display, press the PROGRAM button ❸ again.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) PLAYING A CD+G (COMPACT DISC + GRAPHICS) KARAOKE DISC You can listen to a CD+G Karaoke disc. CD+G discs combine the recorded music with an additional video track that displays the song lyrics on an external television screen (see pages 6-7). As the song plays, the words to be sung are highlighted in a different color on most CD+Gs. 1 2 3 Press the POWER button to the ON (in) position to turn the unit on; the POWER indicator will light. Insert a CD+G disc.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) BALANCE: For multiplex recordings, make sure the BALANCE control is set to the center position so you can hear both the vocal and music tracks at an equal level. INFORMATION ABOUT CD+G KARAOKE DISCS: CD+G Karaoke discs are designed specifically for playback in special CD players that include a CD+G decoder, such as this unit. These discs contain the lyrics to each song and the lyrics will appear on your external TV screen, line by line, as the disc is playing.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Caring for Compact Discs • Treat the compact disc carefully. Handle the compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc. to the compact disc label. • Clean the compact disc periodically with a soft, lint-free, dry cloth. Never use detergents or abrasive cleaners to clean the compact disc. If necessary, use a CD cleaning kit.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service: Symptom Possible Cause Solution CD Player will not play. FUENTE DE ENERGÍA AC: Use el cable AC polarizado incluido con la unidad para operar con energía AC. Inserte el cable AC en cualquier toma de corriente casera de 120V 60Hz. OPERACIÓN (CONTINÚA) CONTROL DE PAUSA PARA CD 1 2 Durante la reproducción del CD, si usted desea poner en pausa el disco momentáneamente, oprima el botón de Tocar/Pausa (® ). La reproducción se detiene pero el disco continúa girando y la pantalla parpadeará. Oprima de nuevo el botón de Tocar/Pausa (® ) para soltar la pausa y reanudar la reproducción normal del CD; la pantalla permanecerá encendida.

Oprima el botón de BRINCAR ( ) ❷ or( ) ❸ para escoger la pista específica que usted desee que se repita. Cuando el número de pista seleccionada aparece en la pantalla, oprima el botón de TOCAR/PAUSA (® ) ❹ para iniciar la reproducción. La pista específica que usted escogió se repetirá continuamente.

OPERACIÓN (CONTINÚA) REPRODUCIR UN DISCO KARAOKE CD+G (DISCO COMPACTO + GRÁFICOS) Usted puede oír un disco karaoke CD+G. Los discos CD+G combinan la música grabada con una pista adicional de video que muestra las letras de las canciones en la pantalla de un televisor externo (ver páginas 8 y 9). Mientras se escucha la canción, las palabras a cantar se marcarán en un color diferente en la mayoría de los CD+G.

Nunca use detergentes o limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar un disco compacto.
