Hot water and steam preparation
11
11.2 Steam supply
Pointer: Due to temperature differences in the
heating system, any remaining steam has to
be discharged through the Easy Cappuccino
should coffee be required directly after steam
supply.
Place a suitable receptacle under the milk frother
(14) and set the function controller (20) to the
1 or 2 cup setting.
Now open the steam/hot water valve (16) until
water is dispensed. Then close the valve (16)
fully again. The process lasts approx. 15 seconds.
11.3 Frothing milk
Turn the function controller (20) to steam
supply. The following appears in the display
“Steam on?” Confirm with the start key (22).
“Steam” appears in the display. The machine
heats up to steam temperature and the
temperature display flashes. This process takes
approx. 30 seconds. The temperature display
lights up when the required temperature is
reached
Tip: Before frothing milk, discharge any
condensation in the pipes by opening the
steam/hot water valve until steam comes out
of the Easy Cappuccino.
Fig. N
Fill the cup or receptacle only 1/3 full. This is
because milk rises rapidly during frothing. If
you want to froth milk in a larger receptacle,
place it on the left next to the drip tray and
swing the Easy Cappuccino (14) outwards.
Push down the Easy Cappuccino (14) until it
is covered by the milk and open the steam/hot
water valve (16). The steam drives the whisk
wheel in the Easy Cappuccino, making the
milk both warm and frothy. When the milk is
frothy enough, shut off the steam supply and
push the Easy Cappuccino back to its upper
position.
Use the froth regulating knob (15) to set the
desired froth quality, Fig. O. This regulates
the supply of air. More air (turning clockwise)
produces a coarser froth and less air (turning
anticlockwise) a finer froth.
Tip: It is not the milk’s fat content which helps
produce the best froth, but its protein level. The
more protein the milk contains, the better it is
for frothing.
Pointer: Due to temperature differences in the
heating system, any remaining steam has to
be discharged through the Easy Cappuccino
should coffee be required directly after steam
supply.
Place a suitable receptacle under the milk frother
(14) and set the function controller (20) to the
1 or 2 cup setting.
Now open the steam/hot water valve (16) until
water is dispensed. Then close the valve (16)
fully again. The process lasts approx. 15 seconds.
Grinder
10
The grinder default setting is an average one
and suitable for most kinds of coffee. If you
wish, you can use the lever (17) under the
bean container to change this setting. Only
change fineness when the grinder is running.
Move the lever to the left for finer grinding
and to the right for coarser grinding, Fig. K.
Tip: As a rule, the finer the coffee is ground the
more intensive it tastes. In order to fully enjoy
the coffee aromas, we recommend always
choosing the finest grinder setting.
Unfortunately, even with the best coffee blends,
you may still find minute stones amongst the
beans. A stone in the grinder will give off a
loud noise. In this case, shut down the
coffeemaker straight away and remove the
stone. Proceed as follows:
Shut down the appliance and pull out the
plug.
Fig. E Lock the beans chamber by turning
the bean selector switch (3) to the mid-
position.
Fig. H, I Turn the container (2) to the removal
position and remove.
Fig. L Turn the lever for setting the grinding
fineness (17) anticlockwise and past the
coarsest setting till it stops.
Fig. L Now take out the grinding cone and
remove the stone.
Re-assemble the grinder in the reverse order.
When replacing the grinding cone, please
ensure that the guides snap firmly into place.
Hot water and steam preparation
11
11.1 Hot water supply
Pointer: The nozzle becomes extremely hot when
hot water and steam are being supplied. Please
avoid touching the lower part of the milk frother
at this time, as it can result in scalding.
Set the function controller (20) to the 1 or 2
cup setting. When the coffeemaker has reached
operating temperature (temperature displays
lights up), open the steam/hot water valve
(16), Fig. M. Up to 150 ml of hot water can
be drawn. The valve can also be closed before
this volume, as soon as the desired amount
of hot water is reached. If more than 150 ml
is required, the process must be repeated.
11.2 Steam supply
Turn the function controller (20) to steam
supply. The following appears in the display
“Steam on?” Confirm with the start key (22).
“Steam” appears in the display. The machine
heats up to steam temperature and the tempe-
rature display flashes.
This process takes approx. 30 seconds. The
temperature display lights up when the
required temperature is reached. You can now
place a receptacle under the milk frother (14)
and turn open the knob (16) . Hot steam drives
the Easy Cappuccino whisk.
If you want to use the steam for warming
other liquids – without frothing – then remove
the whisk of the Easy Cappuccino, Fig. B. This
is done by unscrewing the lower part of the
frother – the steam pipe – and by pressing
the whisk wheel from the top out of the steam
pipe, Fig. Q. Then screw the steam pipe back
onto the Easy Cappuccino.
Make sure the seal of the Easy Cappuccino
always sits firmly.
