To show this, the white LED  lights up and the
programmed start time shows briefly in the display.
• IfyouwishtoactivatetheAroma Control for the
programmed brewing, then press the START button
 for longer than two seconds. Now as well as the
white LED, a green LED  will light up.
• Theapplianceautomaticallystartstomakethe
coee at the time you have set.
• BypressingtheTIMERbuttonagain,thetimer
feature can be deactivated at any time. The white
LED goes o. 
• Ifyouwanttomakecoeebeforetheprogrammed
start time then press the START button . The
timer feature will then be deactivated.
6. Cleaning and maintenance
External cleaning
• Thehousingcanbecleanedwithasoftdampcloth.
• Theglasspotandlid,thelterinsertandtheswivel
filter can be washed in the dishwasher.
• Whencold,thehotplatecanbecleanedwithasoft
damp cloth.
Descaling
Based on the water hardness level you have set
(see point 3) the descaling programme should be run
promptly after the DECALC/HARDNESS button 
lights up. The descaling programme is only available
when the descaling display lights up.
• Followthemanufacturersinstructionsregarding
amounts and pour the descaler into the water tank.
We recommend using Melitta

• BrieypresstheDECALC/HARDNESSbutton.
The red LED begins to flash. In the display the word
“CALC” flashes
(ONLY Melitta

AromaElegance
®
DeLuxe).
• Thedescalingprocesswillrunautomatically,ittakes
about25minutes.Thetimeremainingisshownin
the display
(ONLY Melitta
®
AromaElegance
®
DeLuxe).
• Attention: Only by carrying out the
descaling process completely, all limescale
deposits will be removed and the red light on
the DECALC/HARDNESS button will go off.
The descaling process should therefore not
be interrupted before it has run for the full
25 minutes.
• Afterthedescalingprocessiscompletedthe
DECALC/HARDNESS button light will go o. The
appliance will turn o automatically and go into
stand-by mode.
• Attheendofthedescalingprocess,theappliance
should be rinsed twice through, using the maximum
amount of water without coee, in order to
completely remove any remaining limescale deposits.
7. Notes on disposal
• Applianceslabelledwiththissymbol are subject
to European guidelines for WEEE (Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment).
• Electricappliancesdonotgointhehouseholdbin.
Dispose of the appliance in an environmentally
friendly way using suitable collection systems.
• Packagingmaterialsarerawmaterialsandcanbe
recycled. Please recycle them.
