SCIP-Inf-10 – Surgery Patients with
Perioperative Temperature Management
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) adopted SCIP-Inf-10
in 2009. This measure requires acute care inpatient facilities to achieve a
36.0°C temperature in patients undergoing surgical procedures under
general or neuraxial anesthesia for 60 minutes or more.
