Open the external connector
terminal cap (P. 29), and plug
the microUSB terminal of the
Earphone Adapter into the
external connector terminal
UIM
UIM is an IC card that stores your phone
number and other information.

Some functions are not available if the UIM
is not inserted.

For details on the UIM, refer to the manual
for the UIM.

You should insert/remove the UIM after
turning the power off and removing the
battery pack (P. 39). Hold the FOMA
terminal firmly with both hands.
