DESCRIPTION
ALARM RECEIVER EXPRECIUM D OR KNOWN AS ED
The twin line alarm receiver Ed is a MCDI product. This new breed of alarm receivers is equipped with 2 receiving phone lines
(FXO), USB port, Serial port, 5V DC on board relay, serial printer port, PCI or PCI-E bus adaptor.
Ed is made to sit in a computer PCI or PCI-E bus. It uses power from the bus and computer housing. Output to PC is made via
USB or Serial ports available on Ed.
Ed is available in RoHS and non RoHS version. Must be specified at the time of order.
What’s in the box
VERIFY CONTENT AT ARRIVAL
An inspection sheet filled by MCDI quality control is shipped inside the box to control all
components shipped.
Inspection sheet Contains a summary report of re-testing before shipping. EVERY unit shipped by MCDI is re-tested prior to
packing using at least 3 signals in Contact ID, Pulse and SIA. It is normal to see events in memory when you connect your Ed. It
proves unit was re-tested prior to packing. You can erase content of memory buffer prior to connecting to PC. Go to SYSTEM
menu options below to learn how to erase memory buffer.

Buffer memory
Buffer holds up to 4095 events. Buffer is used when Monitoring Application is absent. Unit keeps receiving
and printing during fail time if power is connected and maintained. When computer comes back on, buffer empties to the
computer. If more than 4095 events are received in the buffer during fail time, Ed writes over the oldest event. Written records
may be available on printer connected to serial printer port.
Alert/Warning Buzzer
On board buzzer is available for alert warning when the Computer is absent. Parameter activated
buzzer can be enabled/disabled in PC Configurator app only.
