Traffic viewer description
CONFIGURATOR AND TABS
Two main features are available in the Configurator: Configuration tool and traffic viewer. At start up, General tabs loads. To
access Traffic viewer, click on Traffic button at top right. You cannot use Traffic viewer and configurator at the same time as they
use the same port. Using Traffic will suspend Configurator. You must exit from Traffic viewer to continue configuration.
Language
Select language of the Configurator and traffic viewer. This does not affect the language selection of D4 front
display which is made by either front display or by selection at Configurator>General>Preferred Language.
Com Port Select Com Port from drop down menu to select unit to configure. If necessary go to Device Manager to locate the
correct match of port/unit. If successful, Configurator will display a prompt indicating parameters were received successfully.
NOTE: if unit is connected over both serial and USB ports, both will show in different COM ports.
Speed
Select speed of transmission between Ed/D4 and Configurator. Default is 115200 bauds
Identification/serial number serial number of the unit selected is display in the top bard of the Configurator when COM port
is selected.
Available tabs are:
GENERAL
configuration of general parameters non related to phone lines or output.
RECEIVER
configuration of lines parameters and handshake sequence, most per phone line.
OUTPUT
configuration of output format and port selection, common to both phone lines.
DISPLAY
configuration of parameters for front display of D4.
MAINTENANCE
time and date manual input, firmware upload, default reset, printer speed.
STATUS
details of key parameters of Ed/D4.
GENERAL TAB
Unit name
Enter up to 32 characters (ASCII lower table) and press Change button to register.
Owner
Enter up to 32 characters (ASCII lower table) and press Change button to register.
Preferred Language
set default language for front display of D4. This setting may be different from Language selector of the
Configurator located at top of the Configurator tool main form.
