Removal and Replacement Procedures (RRPs)
4. Insert and hand tighten the remaining six panhead Phillips
screws.
5. Using a standard Phillips screwdriver, tighten the 7 panhead
screws that secure the backplane to the card cage. Tighten the screws
alternatelyfrombottomtotopandfromsidetoside.
6. Connect the maintenance port cable.
7. Replace the card cage and backplane in the director chassis. with
6panhead Phillips screws. Use astandard Phillips screwdriver to
replace the 6 panhead Phillips screws.
8. Plug the Power/System LED assembly cable into the backplane.
9. Replace the SBAR assemblies (RRP: SBAR Assembly on page 5-36).
10. Replace the fan modules (RRP: Fan Module on page 5-30).
11. Replace the AC modules (RRP: AC Module on page 5-26).
12. Replace the power supplies (RRP: Power Supply on page 5-23).
13. Replace the port cards (RRP:Port Module Card(UPM and XPM)on
page 5-11).
14. Replace the CTP cards (RRP: CTP Card on page 5-6).
15. Disconnect theESD wrist strapfrom the director chassis and your
wrist.
16. Replace the RFI shield.
17. Connect the power cords and power on the director (Power-On
Procedure on page 4-34).
18. Verify thatPOSTs complete andthe greenpower LED on the front
bezel,greenLEDontheactiveCTPcard,andgreenPWR OK
LEDs on both power supplies remain illuminated. If a problem is
indicated, go to Chapter 3, Maintenance Analysis Procedures
(MAPS) to isolate the problem.
19. Reprogram the replacement backplane with the original director
serial number:
a. Remove the protective cap from the 9-pin maintenance port at
the rear of the director (a flat-tip screwdriver may be
required).Connect the9-pin end ofthe RS-232modem cableto
the port.
b. Connect the other cable end to a 9-pin communication port
(COM1 or COM2) at the rear of the maintenance terminal PC.
