3. Insert a blank diskette in the floppy drive of the PC
communicating with the EFCM Basic Edition interface.
4. At the Save As dialog box, select the floppy drive (A:\)fromthe
Save in drop-down menu, type a descriptive name for the zipped
(.zip)dumpfileintheFile name field, and click Save.
5. A Download dialog box displays, showing the estimated time
remaining to complete the download process. When finished, the
dialog box changes to a Download complete dialog box.
6. Click Close to close the dialog box.
7. Remove the diskette with the newly-collected maintenance data
from the PCfloppy drive. Return the diskette with the failed FRU
to support personnel for failure analysis.
Powering the Director On or Off
This section describes procedures to power on or power off the
director.
Power-On Procedure
DANGER
Use the supplied power cords. Ensure the facility power receptacle is
the correct type, supplies the required voltage, and is properly
grounded.
To power on the director:
1. One alternating current (AC) power cord is required for each
power supply installed. Ensure power cord(s) connect facility
power to the input AC module at the bottom rear of the director.
NOTE: If two power cords are installed for high availability, plug the
cords into separate facility power circuits.
NOTE: The director does not have a power switch. Therefore the
director powers on when its power cords are connected to facility power.
