IDENTIFICATION OF SYMBOLS Starting Reminder Move ON/STOP switch to the ON position. Pull the starter rope sharply with your right hand until the engine fires. Slowly press primer bulb 6 times. Push the choke/fast idle lever in to the HALF CHOKE position. Pull choke/fast idle lever out to the full extent (to the FULL CHOKE position). Pull the starter rope sharply with your right hand until the engine starts.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS S Carefully plan your sawing operation in advance. Do not start cutting until you have a clear work area, secure footing, and, if you are felling trees, a planned retreat path. WARNING: Always disconnect spark plug wire and place wire where it cannot contact spark plug to prevent accidental starting when setting up, transporting, adjusting or making repairs except carburetor adjustments. This chain saw for forest service is only designed for cutting wood.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS S Chain brake. Your chain saw is equipped with a chain brake that is designed to stop the chain from moving. S ON/STOP switch. Start the engine and make sure the engine stops when you move the ON/STOP switch to the STOP position. MAINTAIN YOUR SAW IN GOOD WORKING ORDER WARNING: The chain brake is designed to stop the chain immediately if you get a kickback. The chain brake reduces the risk of accidents, but only you can prevent them.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS which stops the chain for an instant. The result is a lightning fast, reverse reaction which kicks the guide bar up and back toward the operator. S Pinch-Kickback can occur when the the wood closes in and pinches the moving saw chain in the cut along the top of the guide bar and the saw chain is suddenly stopped. This sudden stopping of the chain results in a reversal of the chain force used to cut wood and causes the saw to move in the opposite direction of the chain rotation.
GENERAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS S Do not cut above shoulder height. ASSEMBLY ATTACHING THE BAR AND CHAIN (if not already attached) Tip of Bar WARNING: Recheck each assembly step if the saw is received assembled. Always wear gloves when handling the chain. The chain is sharp and can cut you even when it is not moving! 1. Move ON/STOP switch to the STOP position. 2. Loosen and remove bar knob completely by lifting lever and turning counterclockwise. ASSEMBLY CHAIN TENSION (including units with chain already installed) 3. Using a screwdriver, move chain around guide bar to ensure all links are in bar groove. 4. While lifting tip of guide bar, use the lever to tighten bar knob securely (clockwise). Hand tighten only! WARNING: Wear protective gloves when handling chain. The chain is sharp and can cut you even when it is not moving. NOTE: When adjusting chain tension, make sure the bar knob is finger tight only.
FUEL HANDLING FUEL Note! The machine is equipped with a twostroke engine and must always be run using a mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil. It is important to accurately measure the amount of oil to be mixed to ensure that the correct mixture is obtained. When mixing small amounts of fuel, even small inaccuracies can drastically affect the ratio of the mixture. WARNING: Always ensure there is adequate ventilation when handling fuel. PETROL S Use good quality unleaded or leaded petrol.
STARTING AND STOPPING WARNING: The chain must not move when the engine runs at idle speed. If the chain moves at idle speed refer to CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT within this manual. Avoid contact with the muffler. A hot muffler can cause serious burns. To stop the engine, move the ON/STOP switch to the STOP position. To start the engine, hold the saw firmly on the ground as illustrated below. Make sure the chain is free to turn without contacting any object. Use only 15″ -- 18″ (40 -- 45 cm) of rope per pull.
WORKING TECHNIQUES CHAIN BRAKE TREE FELLING TECHNIQUES WARNING: Ensure chain brake is disengaged by pulling the front hand guard back toward the front handle as far as possible. The chain brake must be disengaged before cutting with the saw. S This saw is equipped with a chain brake. The brake is designed to stop the chain if kickback occurs. S The inertia activated chain brake is activated if the front hand guard is pushed forward, either manually or by centrifugal force.
WORKING TECHNIQUES First cut Final cut here. 5 cm above center of notch. 5 cm Notch 5 cm Second cut S After removing the wood from the notch, make the felling cut on the opposite side of the notch. This is done by making a cut about 5 cm higher than the center of the notch. This will leave enough uncut wood between the felling cut and the notch to form a hinge. This hinge will help prevent the tree from falling in the wrong direction.
WORKING TECHNIQUES S Give special attention to logs under strain to prevent the saw from pinching. Make the first cut on the pressure side to relieve the stress on the log. BUCKING USING A LOG OR SUPPORT STAND S Remember your first cut is always on the pressure side of the log. S Your first cut should extend 1/3 of the diameter of the log. S Finish with your second cut. Using a log for support 2nd Cut WARNING: Never climb into a tree to limb or prune.
SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS WARNING: Improper maintenance could result in serious engine damage or in serious injury. WARNING: Disconnect the spark plug before performing maintenance, except for carburetor adjustments. SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS Tools required: File Rail Edges and Sides Square Worn Groove Correct Groove Replace guide bar when the groove is worn, the guide bar is bent or cracked, or when excess heating or burring of the rails occurs. If replacement is necessary, use only the guide bar specified for your saw in the repair parts list or on the decal located on the chain saw. SPARK PLUG The spark plug should be replaced each year to ensure the engine starts easier and runs better.

TROUBLESHOOTING TABLE WARNING: Always stop unit and disconnect spark plug before performing all of the recommended remedies below except remedies that require operation of the unit. TROUBLE CAUSE Engine will not start or will run only a few seconds after starting. 1. Ignition switch off. 2. Engine flooded. Engine will not idle properly. 1. Idle speed requires adjustment. 2. Carburetor requires adjustment. Engine will not accelerate, lacks power, or dies under a load. Engine smokes excessively.

INSTRUCTIONS GÉNÉRALES DE SÉCURITÉ S Eliminez toutes les sources éventuelles d’étincelles ou de flammes dans les endroits dans lesquels vous mélangez ou versez le carburant. Evitez la fumée, les flammes ou toute activité pouvant provoquer des étincelles. Laissez le moteur se refroidir avant de remettre du carburant.

S Utilisez le barre--guide et la chaîne au recul réduit définis pour votre tronçonneuse. MAINTENEZ LE CONTRÔLE Tenez--vous debout légèrement à gauche de la tronçonneuse. N’inversez jamais les positions des mains. Le pouce en bas de l’anse.

MONTAGE Couteaux Calibre de profondeur Maillons d’entraînement 6. Placer la chaîne au--dessus de la bague d’embrayage et derrière, en engageant les maillons entraîneurs dans la roue dentée du tambour d’embrayage. 7. Placer le bas des maillons entraîneurs entre les dents de la roue à l’extrémité du guide--chaîne. 8. Insérer les maillons entraîneurs dans la rainure du guide--chaîne. 9. Tirer le guide--chaîne vers l’avant jusqu’à ce que la chaîne repose correctement dans la rainure du guide-chaîne.
MONTAGE Serrer la chaîne 5. Remettre le levier du bouton flèche dans sa position d’origine. Desserrer la chaîne Anneau de tension externe 3. À l’aide de l’outil pour la barre, faire tourner la chaîne autour du guide pour s’assurer que tous les maillons sont bien dans la rainure du guide. 4. En tenant l’extrémité du guide--chaîne soulevée, serrez le bouton flèche (sens horaire) à fond.
MANIPULATION DE CARBURANT HUILE DEUX TEMPS S Pour obtenir un fonctionnement et des résultats optimaux, utiliser une huile moteur deux temps Universal, Universal powered by McCulloch fabriquée spécialement pour nos moteurs deux temps à refroidissement à air. • Ne jamais utiliser d’huile deux temps pour moteurs hors--bord refroidis par eau, appelée huile outboard (désignation TCW). • Ne jamais utiliser d’huile pour moteurs à quatre temps.
DÉMARRAGE ET ARRÊT AVERTISSEMENT: La chaîne doit être à l’arrêt lorsque le moteur fonctionne au point mort. Si la chaîne bouge au point mort, reportez--vous au chapitre «REGLAGE DU CARBURATEUR» dans ce manuel. Ne touchez pas le silencieux. Quand il est chaud, le silencieux peut provoquer de graves brûlures. Pour arrêter le moteur, poussez l’interrupteur ON/STOP sur «STOP». Pour démarrer le moteur, tenez fermement la tronçonneuse au sol comme illustré ci--dessous.
DÉMARRAGE ET ARRÊT Le bord arrière de la tronçonneuse comporte un rappel simple des instructions de démarrage avec des illustrations décrivant les différentes étapes. 4. DIFFICULTÉS DE DÉMARRAGE (ou d’un moteur noyé) DÉMARRAGE D’UN MOTEUR CHAUD 1. Mettez l’interrupteur ON/STOP en position «ON». 2.
TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO TECHNIQUE DE COUPE DES ARBRES AVERTISSEMENT: L’abattage d’un arbre demande beaucoup d’expérience. Un utilisateur non expérimenté ne doit pas effectuer d’abattages.
TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO COUPER UN ARBRE ABATTU (DEBITAGE) Le débitage est le terme utilisé pour couper un arbre abattu en souches ayant la longueur souhaitée. AVERTISSEMENT: Ne vous tenez pas sur la souche que vous coupez. Toutes les souches sont susceptibles de rouler, ce qui risque de vous renverser et de vous faire perdre le contrôle de l’appareil. Ne vous tenez pas en aval de la souche que vous coupez. ATTENTION S Ne coupez qu’une bûche à la fois.
TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO Avec un support 2ième coupe 1ère coupe 1ère coupe 2ième coupe ELAGAGE ET EBRANCHAGE AVERTISSEMENT: Guarde contre le recul. RÉPARATIONS ET RÉGLAGES AVERTISSEMENT: L’entretien incorrect pourrait provoquer des dommages sérieux au moteur ou des blessures graves. AVERTISSEMENT: Débranchez toujours le fil de la bougie quand vous ferez des réparations, sauf les réglages de carburateur. Nous vous recommandons de faire exécuter toutes les opérations de maintenance et de réglage non mentionnées dans ce manuel auprès d’un point de service après--vente agréé. ENTRETIEN Vérifiez: Niveau du Carburant . . .
RÉPARATIONS ET RÉGLAGES MAINTENANCE DE LA BARRE Si la tronçonneuse ne coupe que d’un côté, si vous devez forcer dessus pour qu’elle coupe ou si vous avez utilisé une quantité incorrecte de lubrifiant pour la barre, il peut être nécessaire de porter la barre à la maintenance. Si la barre est usée, elle risque d’endommager la chaîne et de rendre la taille difficile.
RÉPARATIONS ET RÉGLAGES S Maintenez les lignes indicatrices de 30° du porte--lime parallèles au guide et au centre de la chaîne. Couteaux 4. Vérifiez et abaissez les calibres de profondeur. STOCKAGE AVERTISSEMENT: Laissez le moteur refroidir et prenez toutes les mesures de sécurité avant de l’entreposer ou de le transporter dans un véhicule. Entreposez l’appareil et le carburant dans un endroit où il ne risque pas d’y avoir d’étincelles ou de flammes provenant de chauffe--eau, de moteurs électriques, interrupteurs, etc. Entreposez l’appareil avec le dispositif de sûreté en place. Positionnez l’appareil de façon à ce qu’aucun objet coupant ne puisse blesser accidentellement un passant.

ERKLÄRUNG DER SYMBOLE Symbole für den Motorstart Stellen Sie den Schalter auf EIN (ON). Ziehen Sie das Starterseil mit der rechten Hand, bis das typische Zündgeräusch des Motors zu vernehmen ist. Primer 6 mal drücken. Stellen Sie den Choke/ Startgashebel auf HALF CHOKE). Ziehen Sie den Choke/ Startgashebel vollständig heraus (in die position FULL CHOKE). Ziehen Sie das Starterseil mit der rechten Hand, bis der Motor läuft.
ALLGEMEINE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN WARNUNG: Stellen Sie sicher, daß Sie den Zündkerzenstecker beim Einstellen, Reparieren, Transport oder bei sonstigen Arbeiten abziehen, um ein unbeabsichtigtes Starten der Säge zu vermeiden. (Einzige Ausnahme: Einstellen des Vergasers.) Diese Kettensäge für Waldarbeiten ist ausschließlich zum Sägen von Holz geeignet. Kettensägen sind Hochgeschwindigkeitswerkzeuge zum Sägen von Holz.
ALLGEMEINE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN Kettenbremse sind sofort zu ersetzen, wenn diese defekt sind oder anderweitig entfernt wurden. S Die Kettensäge ist bei abgeschaltetem Motor mit dem Auspuff vom Körper weggerichtet und der Schiene und der Kette nach hinten gerichtet, nach Möglichkeit mit Kettenschutz, zu transportieren. ALLGEMEINE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN S Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Zubehörteile, die für McCulloch empfohlen werden. VORSICHT BEIM UMGANG MIT TREIBSTOFF S Beim Umgang mit Treibstoff und beim Betrieb der Kettensäge darf nicht geraucht werden. S Stellen Sie sicher, daß beim Mischen oder Betanken von Treibstoff keine Funken oder offenes Feuer auftreten können. Rauchen, offenes Feuer oder Arbeiten, die Funkenflug verursachen, sollten daher unterbunden werden.
ALLGEMEINE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN S Sägen Sie nur mit Vollgas. Wenn sich die Kette nicht mit Höchstgeschwindigkeit bewegt, besteht erhöhte Gefahr von Rückschlagreaktionen. S Sägen Sie immer nur einen Stamm oder Ast. S Lassen Sie beim Weitersägen in einem zuvor begonnenen Schnitt extreme Vorsicht walten. S Beginnen Sie Schnitte niemals mit der Spitze der Schiene (Stichsägeschnitt). S Achten Sie auf rutschende Baumstämme oder andere Kräfte, die die Kette einklemmen oder in das Sägeschwert fallen könnten.
ALLGEMEINE SICHERHEITSVORSCHRIFTEN WARNUNG: VERLASSEN SIE SICH NIEMALS AUF DIE IN DER SÄGE EINGEBAUTEN SICHERHEITSVORRICHTUNG- EN. DIE SÄGE SOLLTE IMMER ORDNUNGSGEMÄß UND MIT ÄUßERSTER VORSICHT BETRIEBEN WERDEN, UM EINEN RÜCKSCHLAG ZU VERMEIDEN. Kettensägenschienen und Sägeketten mit vermindertem bzw. niedrigem Rückschlag verringern die Möglichkeit und das Ausmaß des Rückschlags und sind zu empfehlen. Diese Säge ist mit einer rückschlaghemmenden Schiene und Kette ausgerüstet.
MONTAGE WARNUNG: Es ist sehr wichtig, dass beim Einbau der Kupplungsabdeckung der über der Einstellschraube angeordnete Stift genau mit der unteren Bohrung in der Führungsschiene ausgerichtet ist. UMGANG MIT KRAFTSTOFF KRAFTSTOFF Hinweis! Das Gerät ist mit einem Zweitaktmotor ausgestattet und daher ausschließlich mit einer Mischung aus Benzin und Zweitaktöl zu betreiben. Um das korrekte Mischungsverhältnis sicherzustellen, muss die beizumischende Ölmenge genau abgemessen werden. Beim Mischen kleiner Kraftstoffmengen wirken sich auch kleine Abweichungen bei der Ölmenge stark auf das Mischungsverhältnis aus. WARNUNG: Beim Umgang mit Kraftstoff für gute Belüftung sorgen.
STARTEN UND STOPPEN WARNUNG: Läuft die Kette, während sich das Gerät im Leerlauf befindet, lesen Sie unter EINSTELLEN DES VERGASERS in diesem Handbuch nach. Berühren Sie den Auspuff nicht! Ein heißer Auspuff kann schwerwiegende Verbrennungen verursachen. Stoppen Sie den Motor, indem Sie den Schalter auf AUS (STOP) stellen. Drücken Sie beim Starten das Gerät fest auf den Boden, wie nachfolgend abgebildet. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Kette frei laufen kann und nicht mit Objekten in Berührung kommt.
STARTEN UND STOPPEN ANLASSEN BEI WARMEN MOTOR 1. Stellen Sie den Schalter auf EIN (ON). 2. Ziehen Sie den Choke/Startgashebel in die Position FULL CHOKE für den schnellen Leerlauf, dann ziehen Sie den Hebel auf die Position HALF CHOKE. 3. Primer 6 mal drücken. 4. Ziehen Sie das Starterseil mit der rechten Hand, bis der Motor läuft. 5. Betätigen Sie dann den Gashebel, um den hohen Leerlauf zu beenden. Der Motor befindet sich nun im normalen Leerlauf.

WARTUNG UND JUSTIERUNG SCHÄRFEN DER KETTE Sägemehl und -- späne von der Führungsschwertnut entfernen WARNUNG: Fehlerhafte Nachfeiltechnik der Kette und/oder mangelhafte Instandhaltung des Tiefenbegrenzers erhöhen die Gefahr von Rückschlägen und können so Ursache ernsthafter Verletzung- en sein. WARTUNG UND JUSTIERUNG S Feilen Sie zunächst die Schneidezähne auf einer Kettenseite nach. Feilen Sie jeden Schneidezahn von innen nach außen ab. Drehen Sie dann die Kettensäge um und wiederholen Sie den Arbeitsschritt auf der anderen Seite der Kette. S Feilen Sie nur in Geradeausrichtung nach vorn mit 2 oder 3 Feilgängen pro Schneidezahnkante. S Alle Schneidezähne auf dieselbe Tiefe abfeilen. S Feilen Sie alle Beschädigungen von den Schneidekanten ab (Seitenplatte und obere Platte des Schneidezahns).
LAGERUNG S Bewahren Sie das Gerät trocken und außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf. S Vor der Langzeitaufbewahrung sicherstellen, dass die Maschine gründlich gesäubert und komplett gewartet wurde. S Bei Transport oder Aufbewahrung des Geräts muss der Transportschutz für die Schneidausrüstung immer montiert sein, um einen versehentlichen Kontakt mit der scharfen Kette zu vermeiden. Auch eine sich nicht bewegende Kette kann schwere Verletzungen beim Bediener oder anderen Personen in der Nähe verursachen.

INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD MANEJE EL COMBUSTIBLE CON CUIDADO S No fume mientras trabaje con combustible o la motosierra esté en funcionamiento. S Elimine cualquier posible fuente de chispas o llamas de la zona en la que se va a proceder a mezclar o verter combustible. No debe haber cigarrillos ni fuego alguno, ni realizarse ningún trabajo del que puedan saltar chispas. Deje que el motor se enfríe antes de llenar el depósito.
INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD S Comience y continúe cortando siempre a toda marcha. Si se reduce la velocidad de la cadena, aumentan las posibilidades de que se produzca un rebote. S Corte sólo un tronco a la vez. S Tenga especial cuidado cuando entre en un corte ya existente. S No intente empezar el corte con el extremo de la barra guía (método de rayado). S Tenga cuidado con los corrimientos de troncos y otras fuerzas que pueden cerrar un corte y atrapar o incidir sobre la cadena.
INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD ADVERTENCIA: NO DEPENDA CIEGAMENTE EN CUALQUIERA DE LOS DISPOSITIVOS INCLUIDOS EN SU CUIDADOSAMENTE PARA EVITAR LAS RECULADAS. Las barra guía reducidoras de reculadas y las cadenas de sierra de baja acción de reculadas reducen la ocasión y magnitud de las reculadas y son recomendadas. MONTAJE 5. Remueva la cadena del envase con precaución. Sujete la cadena con los eslabones de arrastre como se muestra. MONTAJE 5. Ponga la palanca de la perilla de la barra en su posición inicial. Palanca AFLOJE 2. Gire el anillo tensor externo (hacia la derecha) para apretar la cadena hasta que haga contacto con el fondo del raíl de la barra. Levante la punta de la barra cuando ajuste la tensión. MANIPULACION DEL COMBUSTIBLE CARBURANTE Aclaración! La máquina tiene motor de dos tiempos, por lo que debe utilizarse siempre una mezcla de gasolina con aceite para motores de 2 tiempos. Es importante medir con precisión la cantidad de aceite que se mezcla para conseguir la proporción de mezcla adecuada. Al mezclar pequeñas cantidades de combustible, incluso los pequeños errores en la cantidad de aceite tienen una gran incidencia en la proporción de mezcla.
MANIPULACION DEL COMBUSTIBLE Seque minuciosamente alrededor de las tapas de los depósitos. Limpie regularmente los depósitos de combustible y de aceite para cadena. Cambie el filtro de combustible una vez al año como mínimo. La suciedad en los depósitos produce perturbaciones del funcionamiento. Asegúrese de que el combustible esté bien mezclado, agitando el recipiente antes de repostar. Las capacidades de los depósitos de combustible y aceite para cadena están adaptadas entre sí.
ARRANQUE Y PARADA PALANCA DEL CEBADOR/ MARCHA LENTA RAPIDA OFF HALF FULL 6. Firmemente, tire del mango de la cuerda de arranque hasta que el motor se ponga en marcha. 7. Permita que el motor continúe en marcha por approximadamente 30 segundos. Luego, apriete y suelte el gatillo acelerador para permitir que el motor regrese a marcha lenta. TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO S Detenga la sierra en caso de que la cadena toque un objeto extraño. Inspeccione la sierra y cambie las piezas que sean necesarias. S Mantenga la cadena apartada de tierra y suciedad. Incluso una pequeña cantidad de suciedad desafilará rápidamente la cadena y aumentará el riesgo de rebotes. S Practique cortando algunos troncos pequeños empleando las siguientes técnicas y así familiarizarse con la sierra antes de comenzar trabajos de serrado más importantes.
TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO La bisagra sostiene el árbol en el tocón, ayudando a controlar la caída Apertura del corte de tala plástico o de madera en el corte hasta que pueda extraer fácilmente la sierra. Vuelva a encenderla y corte con cuidado por el mismo lugar. No intente conectar la sierra estando atascada o enganchada en un tronco. Cierre del cachado NOTA: Antes de completar el corte de talado, utilice cuñas para abrir el corte cuando sea necesario controlar la dirección de caída.
TÉCNICA DE TRABAJO TRONZADO UTILIZANDO UN TRONCO O SOPORTE S Recuerde que debe hacer siempre el primer corte por el lado retorcido del tronco. S Deberá hundir el primer corte hasta un 1/3 del diámetro del tronco. S Termine con el segundo corte. Utilando un tronco 2ºcorte PUNTOS IMPORTANTES S Tenga cuidado con las ramas, pueden dar latigazos. Tenga especial precaución al podar ramas pequeñas.
SERVICIO Y AJUSTES ADVERTENCIA: El mantenimiento incorrecto podía causar daño serio al motor o a graves lesiones al operador. ADVERTENCIA: Desconecte la bujía antes de hacer cualquier mantenimiento, con la excepción de los ajustes al carburador. SERVICIO Y AJUSTES AFILADO DE LA CADENA Retire el Aserrín de la Ranura de la Barra Guía ADVERTENCIA: Las técnicas de afilado de la cadena y/o el mantenimiento del marcador de profundidad incorrectos aumentan las probabilidades de reculadas, que pueden producir lesiones graves. Orificios del aceite S Añada lubricante al orificio del engranaje después de cada uso. S Los rieles de la barra guía desarrollan protuberancias al gastarse. Sáquelas con una lima plana.
SERVICIO Y AJUSTES S Lime sólo el golpe de avance; use 2 o 3 golpes por borde de corte. S Mantenga todas las cuchillas de la misma longitud cuando las lima. S Lime lo suficiente como para eliminar cualquier daño en los bordes de corte (placa lateral y placa superior de la cuchilla). ALMACENAMIENTO ADVERTENCIA: Antes de almace- nar o transportar la motosierra en un vehículo, pare el motor, deje que se enfríe y asegúrela bien. Guarde el aparato y el combustible en un lugar donde los vapores que emanen del combustible no puedan entrar en contacto con chispas ni llamas de calentadores de agua, motores eléctricos, interruptores, hornos, etc. Guarde el aparato con todas las protecciones en su sitio.
