5. Setup
A) Power supply
This electronic keyboard can be powered by batteries or a standard household wall outlet
Using batteries
Observe correct polarity while inserting the batteries. Remove the batteries if the device is not used for •
a long period of time to avoid damage through leakage. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid
burns when contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle leaking batteries.
Keep batteries out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as there is a risk that •
children or domestic pets could swallow them.
Replace all the batteries at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the device can lead to battery •
leakage and device damage.
Make sure that batteries are not dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fi re. Never recharge non-•
rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Always make sure to turn the keyboard off before inserting new batteries or replacing old ones.
1. Open the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the keyboard.
2. Insert 6 D-size (SUM-1, R-20) batteries into the battery compartment while observing the
correct polarity (positive, “+” and negative, “-”) embossed next to the battery compartment.
3. Close the compartment cover, making sure it locks fi rmly in place.
Low battery indications
Any of the following symptoms indicate low battery power. Replace the batteries as soon as possible
whenever any of the following occurs.
A dim and diffi cult-to-read LCD display•
Abnormally low speaker/headphone volume•
Distortion of the sound output•
Sudden power failure when playing at high volume•
Demo songs are played at irregular rhythms•
Dimming of the display when playing at high volume•
Using the AC Adaptor (Not included)
Never connect the keyboard to a power adapter immediately after it has been taken from a cold place
to a warm one. The condensed moisture can lead to malfunction or damage to the keyboard or risk of
electric shock. Use only the specifi ed AC adaptor. Using other types of adaptor creates the risk of fi re and
electrical shock. For safety sake, be sure to unplug the AC adaptor from the wall outlet whenever leaving
the electronic keyboard unattended for a long time.
Make sure that only the AC adaptor specifi ed for this electronic keyboard is used. The adaptor is a center positive type which
provides 12V DC output. Be sure to turn off the electronic keyboard before you connect the adaptor into the AC wall outlet
and the cord into the unit. Once connected, the keyboard will be powered by the power adapter and the battery power supply
will be cut off.
The power adapter must match the following technical specifi cation:
Input: 230V/AC, 50 Hz
Output: 12V/DC, 2.0A
Polarity:
Outer diameter of plug: Ø 5.5 mm
Inner diameter of plug: Ø 2.1 mm
