Removal of Stock Component: 1. Apply a penetrating lubricant liberally to all exhaust fasteners, hangers and rubber isolators. Figure 1 2. Refer to the illustration in Figure 2 and the chart below to determine where to cut the existing exhaust rear of the outlet of the particulate filter. Figure 6 6. The front pipe needs to be temporarily removed. Carefully disconnect all sensors and loosen the four flange nuts on the rearward part of the front pipe. The transmission cross-member will need to be temporarily dropped to remove the front pipe. Remember to support the transmission with a block or jack stand while doing the transmission cross member removal. See Figure 6. 7. The front pipe has a hanger mounted to the transmission that will also have to be removed.
2. Loosely secure the Down Pipe to the exhaust manifold with the hex bolt from the stock down pipe. Finish tightening the V-Band at the turbo and then finish tightening the bolt on the exhaust manifold. Refer to Figure 10. Figure 10 3. Install the stock sensors into the Down Pipe. One is located along the lower section of the Down Pipe (Refer to Figure 11.) The other two sensors are located closer to the turbo. The front pipe can then be reinstalled using the stock hardware and V-Band clamp.
Installation of MBRP Particulate Filter Back System 6. The Extension Pipe provided is the proper length for the Crew Cab Long Box and the Extended Cab Long Box. For all other models the Extension Pipe will need to be shortened. Slide the 4” Clamp onto the Extension Pipe and install behind the particulate filter. Refer to Figures 14 & 15. Figure 14 Figure 16 Figure 15 7. Use the 4” Hanger Clamp to install the Tail Pipe to the Extension Pipe. Refer to Figure 14.
