improving the availability of data by ensuring that provisioned storage complies with data protection policies. OnCommand has replaced the legacy DFM functionality (Operations Manager, Protection Manager, and Provisioning Manager) with a single package, more closely integrating the management stack of the N series systems. Users of previous versions of the DFM Server feature are automatically entitled to migrate to the OnCommand infrastructure. This feature provides a license for one OnCommand Core server.
Uninstalled code authorization (#9550) This feature authorizes IBM to ship the N series machine without the software having been preloaded. When this feature is specified, the license function activation codes will be shipped separately. Installation of the activation codes is a customer responsibility. MES Order Indicator (#9555) This feature indicates a field order for power cords or cables and will be automatically added by e-config during the first occurrence of a field order for these features.
This feature requires the order of one additional 5-meter optical cable feature (#2044) and one SFP GBIC feature (#2010 or #2011) on each expansion unit (EXNx000) that will be directly attached to the storage controller. Note: These are features of the EXN1000 and EXN4000. If dual-path FC cabling is installed, every storage loop of the storage controller must be dual-path. Feature number 9560 is a plant-only feature -- it may be specified when the N series system is initially ordered.
