• Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep
sparks and flames away from fuel.

• Fuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and
damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the Fuel Line
Safety Procedure. (See F17 Fuel Line Safety Procedure.)
1. Remove the timing chain. (See B10 TIMING CHAIN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2. Remove the ignition coil. (See G8 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the high-tension lead. (See G11 HIGH-TENSION LEAD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Disconnect the generator, but do not remove it from the vehicle. After disconnection, fix the generator using a
rope to prevent it from falling. (See G6 GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
5. Remove the front pipe. (See F35 EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
6. Remove the intake manifold. (See F10 INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
7. Disconnect the heater hose, bypass hose, radiator hose.
8. To firmly support the engine, first set the engine
jack and attachment to the oil pan.

9. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
