MAXPOWER LYE CRYSTALS are activated by cold water. They are

a professional strength chemical that will dissolve hair, soap scum,

grease, coffee grounds, bone scraps, and rinds.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Have the following items

close at hand: a deep dish pan or plastic bucket, vinegar or

baking soda to neutralize the lye if it comes in contact with skin.

• Remove as much standing water as possible.

• Put on eye protection and rubber gloves.

• Slowly pour 1 to 2 tablespoons directly into the drain, making

sure no crystals contact the sink or tub.

• Add cold water and cover with a dish pan. Do not seal the drain.

• Wait for 15 minutes.

• When the drain has opened, flush with cold water.

• If the drain remains clogged, repeat the process once more.

• Contact a plumber if the drain will not open. Advise the plumber

that Lye Crystals are present in the drain.

SAFE TO USE IN: Sinks, Tubs, and Shower Drains.

Will not harm Septic Tanks, Metal or PVC Pipe.

CAUSE EYE DAMAGE AND SKIN IRRITATION. Before using this product, carefully read and then strictly

follow all the warnings and directions found on this container. Failure to do so may result in serious injury and

property damage. IMPORTANT: Do not breathe fumes. Do not mix with bleach, ammonia, or any other

chemicals. CONTENTS: Contains 99% Sodium Hydroxide, 1% inert ingredients. HANDLING & STORAGE:

Sodium Hydroxide reacts with organic & inorganic chemicals. Always wear goggles and rubber gloves when

working with lye (Sodium Hydroxide). VAPORS ARE ALSO HIGHLY CORROSIVE. Avoid breathing the

fumes when handling this product. Store upright in a sealed container, and in a dry area. Refer to the Material

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. DANGER: Toxic fumes may be generated when using

this product. Use only with proper ventilation. If a strong odor is evident, leave the room immediately and

move to fresh air. Never combine Maxpower Lye Crystal Drain Opener with other chemicals or products that

have been used in the drain. Avoid contact with aluminum, porcelain, stainless steel, ceramic, and chrome.

Apply directly into the drain. Never use in garbage disposals or rusted and leaky pipes. Never use a plunger

after adding Maxpower Lye Crystals to the drain. Always use cold water. If liquid bubbles back into the sink,

dilute immediately with cold water. When container is empty, do not reuse. Dispose of bottle properly.

FIRST AID: EXTERNAL – Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately

with vinegar or water for 15 minutes. Call the poison control center for treatment advice.

INTERNAL – If inhaled, move the person to fresh air and administer mouth-to-mouth

resuscitation if necessary. If in eyes, hold the eyelid open and rinse slowly with water for

15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue

rinsing. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Drink large quantities of water. Contact

physician and poison control center at 1-800-222-1222 with details.
