9.6 Tine Chain Case
Tine Chain Case Oil:
• The Tine Chain Case reservoir of your unit has been shipped, from the factory,
already filled with #80W-90 weight Gear oil.
• Approx. capacity 1/3 quart, 10.5 ounces
To check Tine Chain Oil level:
1. Remove four bolts from top inspection cover and remove.
2. Inspect coverage of oil on chain inside and ensure that oil is traveling up
chain and is clearly visible on chain, when viewing through inspection cover.
3. Remount cover
To change Tine Chain Oil:
1. Remove four bolts from top inspection cover and remove
2. Remove lower Tine Chain Case oil plug and drain
3. Re-install oil plug
4. Fill with #80W-90 weight Gear oil with an approx. capacity of 1/3 quart,
10.5 ounces through inspection cover opening.
5. Remount Inspection cover with original mounting hardware.
To adjust and check tension of Tine Chain:
1. Remove four bolts from top inspection cover and remove.
2. Use the adjustment bolts on top of case to adjust tension of chain.
3. Deflection of chain should be no more than 1/8”
4. Caution must be taken to not overtighten chain.
5. Remount Inspection cover with original mounting hardware.
