8.2
External Mode
External mode activates all the port interface pins for applications where the connections between the framer and
the TDMoP block must be custom-wired externally. Some applications that require a network processor would
need wiring like this to be applied between these two points. When GCR1.M
ODE=1, all ports are configured in
external mode by default, but individual ports can be configured for internal mode using the GCR1.INTMODE
n
configuration bits. Figure 6-2 sho
ws which pins are enabled in external mode.
