Switching off the iDL300
To switch the iDL300 off, make use of the Windows CE “Start” menu ( ) and select the “Suspend” option. This will display the “Turn of device”
screen (refer to the FIGURE 3-1 below). Select the “Shut down” option to switch the iDL300 off. Alternatively, the user can hold the <POWER>
button down for two to three seconds. This will also display the “Turn of device” screen (refer to Figure 3-1 below) allowing the user to select
the “Shut down” option to turn the iDL300 off performing a complete shutdown process.
The iDL300 implements a persistent memory system. This allows the device to maintain installed program
information as well as stored data when the device is shut down (switched off). However data that has not
been stored will be lost when the shut down option is executed (device is switched off). Programs that are
running when the device is shut down (switched off) will be closed.

Suspend the iDL300
Suspend mode is when the device is in a sleep state. Selecting to “Suspend” the device will put all active programs in an “on hold” state. The
display is turned off, all user input devices are de-activated (apart from the <POWER> button), and the device‟s processor is turned to a „sleep state‟
(in a low power mode). All applications that is currently running along with data used by such application is stored in RAM (non-persistent) memory,
and will be restored to the state it was when the device is powered up from its Suspend mode again. A green LED to the right of the Fingerprint
Reader will flash at 2 second intervals indicating that the device is in suspend state.
The iDL300 will go into a „suspend‟ or „sleep‟ mode when it is idle for a configurable period of time or when the user selects to put into suspend
mode. The user can select to suspend the iDL300 in the following ways:
Press and hold down the <POWER> button ( ) for two to three seconds, or Tap the Windows Start button ( ) (if it is available on the
device display) and then select the “Suspend” option. This will display the “Turn of device” screen (refer to the FIGURE 3-1 above). Select
the “Suspend” option to put the iDL300 into suspend mode.
Press the <POWER> button ( ) briefly for less than a second to suspend (put to sleep) the iDL300.
