DAT Professional
Digital Audiotape/Ceramic Armor
Metal Particle.
Maxell DAT ceramic armor metal particles deliver over 2,600 gauss
of magnetic energy. An exceptionally uniform dispersion and surface-
calendering (polishing) process contributes toward raising RF output
and lowering modulation noise. Maxell’s DAT tape incorporates a
five-layer construction that includes the adoption of an exceptionally
smooth base film/dust-resistant backcoating layer and a highly polished
magnetic surface that ensures stable tape running. Excellent durability
is achieved with the use of a special HB treatment process that securely
bonds the tape layers together. This combination achieves an excellent
head-to-tape contact and a good overall performance for professional
applications. Understanding the needs of the professional user, we
include with our Pro DAT package a large label area and a specially
designed PP storage case to resist dust, heat, and shock.
