On the View Log Page, you can also control how the log is displayed, using the following edit fields:
Edit Field Description
Select Log
Select the log to display from the pull down box. The choices are: Current Log, or any
previously available dated log file.
Display the Last This field allows you to limit the number of lines in the log that are displayed. Specifying a value
n here will limit the display to the most recent n entries of the log. The maximum numerical
value you can enter is 9999. Leaving this blank will display the entire length of the selected log.
Again, you must press Send Update for this to take effect.
Continuous Update Check this field and press Send Update to refresh the log instantly and display the latest entries
as they happen.
New
Click this button to define a new filter see Figure 2- 48. You can choose a filter name and
specify the filtering algorithm. This button allows you to specify filter criteria for custom log
displays. The Name of the filter can be entered along with a list of named data that is to be
selected for display, separated by vertical bars. The actual filter specification adheres to the
Perl “regular expression” syntax.
Press Save to add your filter expression to the Current Filter list. When a filter is added, its
name will also appear in the drop-down box on the Logging Page (Figure 2- 47).
