Errant Points and/or Background Noise
The scanner was designed with busy workplaces in mind: people walking by
workspaces while scanning is underway, conversations happening over desks
where scanners are working. A defining component and feature of our scanner
is its “cleaning” functions that enable users to erase unwanted points. (See
Cleaning a Scan (p. 22) for more detail on how to clean.)
It’s hard not to over emphasize the importance of cleaning your scans,
especially given the fact it can be accomplished in a matter of seconds. These
improved meshes, in turn, produce impressive 3D prints. Consequences of not
cleaning before meshing can be seen below:
