Note the plasticine used to prop up and secure the vase to the bed on its side in the scan on the
left. The plasticine was then cropped away in the cleaning process so that it would not appear in
the final 3D file.
Combining scans is an automatic process that uses mathematical algorithms to
identify key points in two different scans. It lines up those key points so each
individual scan can snap in place over top of another scan.
1. Open an existing and cleaned MFCX file. This file is your base file and
should be the orientation you want your finished 3D file to be. It is also a
good idea to ensure this is file with the most detail.
2. Click “Combine” in Windows or “Align” in Mac.
