Cause Your system may have built-in audio hardware that conflicts with the audio hardware of your
Matrox unit.

Solution Disable the built-in audio hardware in your system.
Windows 7/Vista –
1 Click Start Æ Control Panel Æ Hardware and Sound * Æ Device Manager Æ Continue *.
(* Depending on your configuration of Windows, this part of the step may not be
necessary.)
2 Under Sound, video and game controllers , right-click your built-in audio hardware and
select Disable . For more information on the audio hardware in your system, see your
system manual.
3 Click Yes .
Windows XP –
1 Click Start Æ Settings * Æ Control Panel Æ Performance and Maintenance * Æ System
Æ Hardware Æ Device Manager .
(* Depending on your configuration of Windows, this part of the step may not be
necessary.)
2 Under Sound, video and game controllers , right-click your built-in audio hardware and
select
Disable . For more information on the audio hardware in your system, see your
system manual.
3 Click Yes Æ Yes . For changes to take effect, your computer must be restarted.
Note: Depending on your sound driver, certain labels may be different. For example,
Line In may be labeled Line .
