Problem USB keyboard or mouse doesn’t work

Cause Windows 7/Vista/XP – Your keyboard, mouse, or USB Human Interface Device (HID) may
not be detected by Windows.

Solution Make sure the USB connectors on your Extio unit are enabled in Windows Device Manager.
Windows 7/Vista –
1 Click Start Æ Settings * Æ Control Panel Æ Hardware and Sound * Æ Device Manager Æ
Continue *.
(* Depending on your version and configuration of Windows, this part of the step may
not be necessary.)
2 Double-click Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand it. Locate the two controllers
named
NEC PCI to USB Host Controller .
3 For both controllers, double-click NEC PCI to USB Host Controller , then click Driver Æ
Enable Æ Yes .
4 Double-click Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller .
5 Click Driver Æ Enable Æ Yes .
6 Click OK , then close the Device Manager dialog box.
Windows XP –
1 Click Start Æ Settings * Æ Control Panel Æ Performance and Maintenance * Æ System
(double-click*)
Æ Hardware Æ Device Manager .
(* Depending on your version and configuration of Windows, this part of the step may
not be necessary.)
2 Double-click Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand it. Locate the two controllers
named
NEC PCI to USB Host Controller .
3 For both controllers, double-click NEC PCI to USB Host Controller , then under Device
usage
, select Use this device (enable) .
4 Double-click Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller .
5 Under Device usage , select Use this device (enable) .
6 Click OK to accept the changes, then close the Device Manager dialog box.

Solution Make sure your device is enabled in Windows Device Manager.
